Norwegian Folk Art Carved and Painted Stool. This beautiful foot stool is hand painted with a lovely German Bauernmalerei or Norwegian Rosemaled design. The design is expertly painted in shades of cream, red and green. On top, the wonderfully carved out star design is painted with a contrasting gold. This piece is old but there is almost no wear to the paint, it absolutely glows with charm Has a sturdy construction, but is obviously meant to be a very decorative item. Found in Lancaster, PA., it would be a perfect mate to the staved wood Amish syrup pitcher offered in my inventory.
