A pair of exquisite antique French Basse Taille bud vase with low relief engraved silver covered with translucent enamel. Having a brilliance of tone the enameling is cobalt blue dramatized with the play of light and becomes a deep violet blue tone. The vases are trumpet in form. Fronts decorated with enamel plaques depicting a romantic scened of Shepherds in a field. Both the vase interior and the underside is vermeir sterling silver with vermeil. The underside is marked 925. Perfect for displaying, they measures 6 1/2" in height. The top measures 2 1/2" across. The scene measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4". Condition: excellent, no chips or wear to the enameling.
