An Antique Pair of French  Solid Bronze ,5-Arm Large Sconces from the Chateau Chenonceau -European Wiring – Condition appropriate to age – last half 19th Century or older. This pair of magnificent solid bronze French sconces is from the Chateau Chenonceau in the Loire Valley of France.  The front depicts a coat of arms with a Royal Crown over a porcupine’s back.  (King Louis XII of France had a porcupine with a crown over its back as part of his family crest.)  The attenuated acanthus leaf arms spiral outwards in an elaborate display of elegance.
