Partners Desk Carved Mahogany : Att To Horner

Only one word describes this partners desk,,StunningMade of mahogany & carved so elegantly .The carving is so crisp, clean & mellow in the rococo scrolling undulating form., The bold carved lion head mask at the top of the knee & the acanthus leaf flows magnificently down to the incredibly carved paw foot. As I mentioned it is a partners desk & it looks the same on both sides, but only one side is the working desk. The great thing about a partners desk is that it can be centered in a room & beautifully viewed from all angles. The size is 31 ½” high x 54” wide x 30”deep.The surface patina is very rich & mellow. Everything about this desk is fine & elegant & I attribute this desk to American Cabinet maker R.J.Horner ,New York, this is very much the manor of his work, Dating from the 19th Century
