Outstanding & unique this old Kerman pictorial rug circa 1920. This rug is so incredible, that I hardly know where to begin to describe it .It is a pictorial rug & every inch of this rug has a different pattern. I would so love to know the story it tells. This rug is hand knotted in a fine weave & the overall look of the design to me is quite primitive .The condition is very good ,having only extremely minimal wear .The colors are vivid & quite elaborate. This rug obviously was well taken care of & it is very clean. Some of the designs on the rug are of a decorated pottery vessel, a city on a hill, a man that appears to be a schollar, birds animals, a temple, mythological symbols & so much more ,this rug is simply mind blowing! It measures aprox 13’ x 9’7”. I had this rug identified by J.R.Azizollahoff; Oriental rug Consultant & Author of the Best Selling Books“The Illustrated Buyer’s Guide to Oriental Carpets” & “Oriental Rugs from A to Z”. This rug is fresh from an estate in Rockland Maine. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer. |
