Primitive Trencher Dough Bowl Tiger Maple
Antiques: Antiques: Item #: MAL-4-251
Price: $425.00 USD THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD!
Primitive Hand hewn Tiger Maple Trencher Dough Bowl 19c. Great Lakes Woodlands Indian origin. Natural patina and surface. Inside bottom adorned with chopping marks and sides has minor old worm "pitting" (but no holes). Looks to be maybe one or two old clever repairs to one side's top edge that blend extremely well, add character and are mentioned only for accuracy, as well as some small tight character surface checking on the end's top edges. The two dark spots on the top edge are the repairs. There is a black patina around each of these and they appear very old and quite natural. None of these go "thru" the bowl and they add to the charm and character of this old bowl. A superb example of Native American woodworking and a beautifully striped piece of Tiger Maple wood to boot. Your satisfaction is guaranteed Measurements are just the right size for showcase collecting, decorating a large or smaller table. Please check out our other Native American ladle offerings that were obtained from a collection.
