Rare 1750 English Mermaid Figural Bodkin Etui Coral Cap

Approx. 4 inches tall.

Just extraordinary...In a Rococo style superbly cast with gold gilt overlay.

Face is so charming with an approx. 1/2 inch oval coral head cap. The bottom is designed as the head of a dolphin.

Somewhat anatomically correct and the push button latch is in very good condition.

Overall amazing for over 250 years old with some loss to the gold gilt and the front middle where a belly button would be is , has an area where perhaps another stone or coral would have been attached
