Rare 1750 Venetian Carnival Miniature Portrait Ivory

A very large approx. 3 by 4inches and framed in a silver frame. The reverse is a large piece of ivory engraved and with pique work.Front is glazed with rounded glass.

Superbly painted. Her face and hands are realistic yet so artful. You can feel the fabric of her luxurious cloak.

Quite rare subject matter and early piece.
