Rare 18th C Venetian Carved Blackamoor Bust Glass Eyes

18th C Venetian Italian carved Head of a blackamoor. Looks like ebony, could be ebonized wood, and sets upon a plexi stand. Bust is approx. 3 1/4 inches tall. Perhaps from a creche figure though it would have been quite large. Beautifully carved curled hair and his face is quite amazing. Brown glass eyes. He wears gold earrings in each ear.

With the age and wood comes wear. A small chip to the back at the neckline and a fine hairline crack which is structural quite sound. A few small chips around his mouth.
