Rare Victorian Women's c1910 Bathing Costume or Swim Suit...with Bloomers. The label says it all...this is The Progressive Waterwitch Bathing Suit. It must be implying the bewitching qualities the woman who wore this suit would have. I find this a priceless Victorian sentiment that adds to the value of this suit. Beautiful original condition. **The label says cotton...I think that there is some wool in this too. It is black, and has the classic Sailor's look trim around the square neck, shorts sleeves and skirt. It buttons and hooks off to the side in the front....this is concealed as it buttons underneath the panel. It features a soft waist...more of a drop style, and a gently full skirt. There are matching bloomers to be worn under this. C O N D I T I O N: Excellent vintage condition. There are a couple of tiny spots on the trim at the neck. We replaced the hooks as they were corroded. S I Z E: Dress is 38" long, waist 28", bust is approx 40". Bloomers are 25" long, waist is 28", hip area is approx 46" "One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art." Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), English author, playwright. PLEASE NOTE: We do not clean most of our vintage clothing, and recommend that you either wash or have them dry cleaned. Any issues we believe will be problematic we mention.
