This is a beauty And a very rare Copeland & Garrett charger from 1831-1843. Likely part of the country hunt scenes series from 1833. Exquisitely hand painted this hunt scene comprised of 2 dogs and a rabbit in a pastoral scene. Elaborate gilding pattern on the white ground. Condition is good. There is a hairline crack clearly delineated in the photographs. Not easily visibly from the front of the plate. Very little loss to the gilt. Clearly this plate has been well cared for over it's 150 plus years. There is some sort of nearly transparent residue on the base of the hunt scene. Withal the charger is a masterpiece, the sort of plate you will find at important British Porcelain auctions at Sothebys and Christies. A great find Please see photos for dimensions and marks.
