Rare Museum Quality 17th French Silk And Metal Embroidered Pillow

A rare French, 17th century, metal and silk embroidered fragment with flowers and leaves. The ground is entirely covered in silver metal that has patina down with age. The ground stitching is worked in a zigzag stitch with eight different types of pattern designs on raised areas of stumpwork. Edged with an 18th century silver metal torchon lace that was entirely handmade and a French green silk ribbon all on macadamian colored silk velvet. Finished with an antique silver metallic cord. In amazing condition with some minor rub to the metal threads on the raised stumpwork and silk loss on the arching leaves as shown.
