	Circa 1875. Extra nice Victorian Renaissance Revival pedestal table (fern stand). This tall, American Black walnut and burl stand has all the dramatic detail found in the best pieces of this period. The generous top is a rectangle with curved ends and ogee edge covered in "book matched" elm burl. The center shaft is also covered in burl and rests on a base similar in size and shape to the top. Between the top and the bottom of the shaft are solid walnut turned and incised decorative elements. The base rests on four rectangular splayed feet with incised decoration. Attached to each side of the top is a curved column which features large curved acanthus leaves, rosettes and burled panels. The ends of these columns are well carved animal legs with large paw feet which rest on either side of the base. Good condition, re-polished. 37 3/4" tall x 16" x 24 1/4" top. Price 2800.00
