Sevres Covered Compote

One very exceptional Sevres Mounted Porcelain Covered Compote. The porcelain is rich deep cobalt blue .The lid has a painted scene in each of the two reserves. One is of two winged cupids sampling the grapes & the other of classical musical instruments& a jug of wine. The compote is lavishly decorated in gold gilt enameling. The gilt bronze mountings are superior in the fineness of the castings. The marks on the bottom are of the Chateau Des Tuilliers & Sevres mark S in the crossed L’s.The interior has floral decoration as well.The condition is very good , having only a tiny bit of roughness around the bottom of the compote where it sits into the mounting frame. It measures 8” high x 10” diameter
