	This Mantel is beautiful and Sterling,made by a Master Silversmith, for a Nobleman, between 1721 and 1750. It was probably designed to hold a cape.The appraiser who did the appraisal of the Titanic jewelry, looked it over for me and told me it was 18th. century, and French. She though it fit ,at the waist, and dangled over his "you know what". It is wonderful! It has 2 pieces of eight, from the 1720's, and a french coin, added later. It is 19 inchs X 11 inchs.
