The Comic History of Rome by Gilbert Abbott A`Beckett & Illustrated by John Leech,Bradbury,Agnew& Co8,9,10,Bouverie.this is one great book !In deep red hard boards with elaborate gold gilt stamping on the cover & spine. All three edges gilt 308 pages. Overall in very good condition with slight loosening of pages. This book is filled with so many engravings & many of them in color .I’m just glancing through this books & it appears that the humor is amazing , what a mind the author had to see important & cultural events as comical !!! This book is incredible, anyone interested in Italy & Italians, and namely Romans will really appreciate this! Oh yes I forgot to mention that the book is undated & I suspect that it dates from around 1850-1860.
