The cover is a bit soiled from age & use but is still very presentable & worthy. I have endeavored in this work to bring out the historical aspect of the Tower of London in its relation to the history of England, and more espically,to show the character of that history rather then mere facts. If I appear to neglect more than one episode of note, more than one description of such interest that it would seem to demand its place, my reason is that the proportion of such episodes & descriptions to the history as a whole has seemed to me to be off even greater importance than the episodes & descriptions themselves.
