	Tiger Maple Burl Ladle Antiques: Fine Treen
	Recently aquired from a Native American collection, this ladle or butter paddle is hand hewn from rare tiger maple burl! The grain pattern is superb in this piece with rare "X" shaped criss-crossing of the stripes. This paddle has it all- teeth grooves, worm pitting, a chip, tiger maple and burl and a wonderful wear and unfinished patina to the surfaces. Look closely at the inside of the bowl there is a circular swirl left from the repetitive motion of the carving tool. Just a marvelous example of Great Lakes woodland indians utilitarian treen.
	Measurements: Bowl is 5 3/4 wide x 4 and the handle is 5" long, 9" tip to tip.
