Rich and classical, the things that Aubusson are known for, is this 18th century French tapestry pillow with vibrant colors of red, blue, brown, cream and beige. A floral motif with a tulips, daffodils and fruit all set within an 18th century floral metallic trim and set off with aged metal fringe. Set upon a neutral tone of taupe silk velvet and framed with a metal cord.
Condition: The tapestry has stunning fresh colors but does have appropriate wear that is consistent with age. The metallic trim also has wear and tarnish from age. Iron oxides in brown dyes which tends to fade into light brown/red, this is a natural part of a textile aging.
