Whale Bone Carved Nautical Box

Super nice box dating from the early 1900’s.A very unique nautical item. Carved Whale Bone in a basket weave design resembling the Nantucket basket styles. On the top of the box is a carved whale .This is quite the little treasure, the box is made in sections, that’s due to the width of the bone. The basket weave is carved with fine detail & the outside of the box has a mellow surface color.
