Laureate of Tournai ans Brussels school of art. Came first in the preparatory competion for the prize of Rome in 1873. Travelled in France, Germany and Italy before settling in Brussels.
Member Founder of the circle"L'Essor". He has painted more than twelve hundred portraits of men and women, of perfect resemblance. He worked with astonishing ease ans unusual brilliance.
