WYNN MORTON One-of-A-Kind 100% Silk Flowing Asymmetrical Black Evening Coat

 

Wynn Morton is the designer of this magnificent coat featured here. He is most famous for costume design derived from the whimsical imagination of the legendary Wynn Morton. the costume and set designer for numerous international events and performing acts. Morton, who lives on a farm south of Dallas, has worked previously with the Ringling Brothers circus, CBS Television and for Broadway shows. He stays closer to home these days and his particular love is the TYLER TEXAS ROSE FESTIVAL. Morton's ideas begin with sketches, which are works of art themselves.

 

Wynn really is the genius behind all of this, He is brilliant. You can give him your basic overall idea for what you'd like your theme to be -- Then Morton takes their ideas and, in his mind, envisions what the costumes should look like. Morton, who attended New York's Parsons School of Design in the 1950s, has worked in the industry for 50 years and with the Texas Rose Festival for 27. When FACETS by SPECTRUM was at its height, Wynn would bring his sketches to me and I designed and manufactured Many of the accessories and jewelry pieces used for this fantasy costuming. We had a marvelous time working together and creatively was an extraordinary period of my career.

 

His passion for design is "all about making people look good on stage." A lot of inspiration comes from trips to New York, bringing back new fabrics that come from the far East. History of architecture, history of customs and history of scenery, all play a role in his creativity. He still travels to New York a few times a year to see Broadway shows, and operas and ballets. to retain his design focus and to get his "batteries recharged".

 

 

Here is a dramatic full and flowing Black Silk Evening Coat with lots of body Fastening is a pair of double snaps at the slightly bateau neckline Long Straight (Not-Fitted) Sleeves with a very deep fold-back Cuff The coat is Full length and A-Line. It features an Asymmetrical hemline that raises to a point in the center in the front and also an unexpected raised point in the back at the hemline This does not detract because of the huge hemline and adds interest and surprise to the design. This is tagged a Size 6 and was made for me for a very special occasion about 20 years ago. It was only worn once and has been lovingly stored ever since.

 

This is really One-Size-Fits-Most. 58" from shoulder to longest point on the hemline 45" from shoulder to the two shortest points on the hemline Shoulder to shoulder measures 16 1/4" Sleeves are 24" Bustline is about 41" plus lap 66" Hipline and Hemline is about 130" This moves like a dream and will work with your most fabulous evening dress or with a short cocktail dress as well
